Orlando 'Cachaíto' López is generally regarded as the finest bass player in Cuba. A maestro of the groove, he is best known internationally as the heartbeat of the Buena Vista Social Club - the one musician who has played on every track of every album in the Buena Vista Social Club series.

Heavily atmospheric, this album it has been likened to a soundtrack for an imaginary film. It incorporates a wide variety of influences that stretch from dub reggae to jazz and DJ culture, while the music remains essentially Cuban, rooted in the deep tradition of Cuban rhythms. The music on this unique album was created by an especially assembled group of musicians. At its core is the team of Cachaíto on bass and his partner in rhythm, the phenomenal Miguel ‘Angá’ Díaz on congas. Completing the rhythm section is Amadito Valdés on timbales and Carlito González on bongos. Individually, these four musicians are acknowledged masters of their instruments. Together they lock in to form one of the greatest rhythm sections of our time.
